Hear No Evil

Thankfully, Kirby couldn't see the World's Ugliest Dog Competition. He also apparently didn't want to hear it either.

It's okay Kirby. They were all kind of cute.

Kirby's Formal Portrait

Showing No Signs...

...of slowing down. Kirby keeps on growing! This Ikea mini-poang chair is his favorite perch, but I think he will graduate soon to the big poang chair.

We just weighed him and, at six months old, he is weighing in at 11 pounds.

Just more of him to love!

Making Friends

Kirby finally is warming up to the puppies, well at least to the one that won't leave him alone!

Kirbs is getting a taste of his own puppy medicine...he now has to hide from the puppies like Jane and Daisy hide from him!

Guarding Dad

I haven't seen this behavior from Kirby before, but when you have nine little trolls running around, I guess you can't be too careful.

Nice to know Kirbs would save us if the puppies turned on us. :)

Which, umm, sometimes they do!

If you want to see more of the little ones, you can check out more pics at Posybunny. And their cutie-pie mom, Cookie, is available for adoption over at Friends of Orange County's Homeless Pets. She is a great medium-sized dog, with a hard-luck story and a sweet personality--Update: Cookie got adopted! Yay!

A (Not So) Hairy Day

Kirby went off with Tim and the girls to get his first professional haircut. I yelled after them, "Make sure they cut it nice and short!"

Oh my....

Thank goodness Kirby can't see that he has no hair! Now we must go buy him a coat for fall...

Teapot Yorkie

I wanted to get a photo of Kirby with a soda can, you know like the "teacup yorkie" people do to show how small their dogs are?

It didn't go well. Kirby was terrified of the soda can.

Even when his favorite toy was sitting next to it, he wouldn't go near it.

But, I believe it still demonstrates how truly gigantic Kirby has become!

Kirby's Nemesis

Mr. Kirby does not like the puppies.

He has not been near them, and they gave him a flea.

He growls at the mama dog when we walk her past him for her daily walks.

It is not a good idea to growl at a mother, Kirby!

Tiny Invaders

Little Kirby has had some visitors this week:

He has tried to be a good host, but he is scared spitless of these little guys. We will be back with more Kirby updates when we get our houseguests settled.

P.S. These sweet puppies will be available for adoption in a few weeks from Friends of Orange County's Homeless Pets.

King of His Castle

More than once this week, I have walked past Kirby and thought he was a stuffed animal.

He is teething a bit, so we have some new "custom" baseboards. He can't see if we are watching him, so he sits very still and listens before he starts chewing. He knows he is being bad, but he can't help himself.

Since we are used to labs chewing up our stuff, it is kind of cute when the damage is done by little yorkie teeth!

Kirby sits proudly after winning a battle with a rogue tissue.

Ya' gotta love puppies.

Getting Bold

It wouldn't take a sighted puppy 17 weeks to learn how to beg!

But we don't mind Kirby being a little slow to learn things like that.

He's not slow to learn to pose for the camera!

Cute as ever, Little Kirby!
